GHB
Other names: Liquid Ecstasy, GBH

GHB is a downer (depressant) and it is usually a clear, odourless liquid with a slightly salty taste. It is normally sold in small glass or plastic bottles. GHB can also come as a white powder that is dissolved in water. A small amount can make you feel happy, sexy and really confident. A larger amount can cause you to feel drowsy or sleepy and very drunk.

Risks and Dangers
It is very easy to overdose on GHB as you never really know the strength. If you take too much you can become unconscious and fall into a coma. It is also dangerous to mix it with other drugs like alcohol as these increase the risks of becoming unconscious and in the worst cases lead to death.

Sometimes some of the chemicals in GHB can be too strong and burn your mouth.

GHB has been associated with "date rape attacks" when people have had their drinks spiked with this drug so please be very careful.

The Law
GHB is a Class C drug (see The Law page)
If you are caught with GHB on you then you will be arrested and you can get up to two years in prison. If you are caught giving it to friends or selling it then you may be sent to prison for up to 14 years and/or be fined.
