Tranquillisers

Other names: Bluies, Benzo's, Zimmers, tamazies

Tranquillisers are a downer (depressant) and are man made drugs produced to treat anxiety, depression and insomnia (not being able to sleep). Tranquillisers usually come as a tablet that you swallow but they can also be mixed to inject (THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND RISKY!). These tablets can make you feel sleepy and forgetful and can help relieve tension and relax you.

Risks and Dangers
Tolerance levels can build quickly when using tranquillisers therefore you feel that you need to take more to get the desired effect. This causes a higher risk of overdose and is very dangerous.

Some people try to inject tranquillisers, especially Temazepam, but this is extremely dangerous.

If tranquillisers are mixed with alcohol they are even more dangerous and can lead to overdose and death.

Tranquillisers are highly addictive, psychologically and physically. If you are trying to come off of tranquillisers then you should be weaned off with professional advice and support, you should not try and come off them alone.

Remember if Tranquillisers are injected you should NEVER share needles or equipment as you are at risk of HIV and Hepatitis.

The Law
Tranquillisers are a Class C drug (see The Law page).

They can only be prescribed by a doctor, if they are prescribed for you by your doctor and you are using them then you are not breaking the law.

If you are found with someone else's Tranquillisers on you then you will be arrested and you can get up to two years in prison. If you are caught giving it to friends or selling it then you get be sent to prison for fourteen years and/or fine.
